Suit filed over death: Cyclist’s family seeks $1 million in damages

The family of a Brownsville woman killed after she was hit by a truck during a summer bicycling event in Harlingen has filed a wrongful death lawsuit seeking more than $1 million in damages.
Armando Aguirre Hernandez, 71, hit and killed 47-year-old Rosa “Rosy†Isela Romo on Aug. 19 in Harlingen on FM 106 while she participated in a bicycling event, according to a Texas Department of Transportation accident report. …

Annual Pearland holiday bike ride marks 25th year

In an annual holiday fundraiser for Pearland trails, cyclists will pedal seven miles through the Green Tee Terrace subdivision on Dec. 8, viewing dozens of homes elaborately decorated for the season.
