UT students biking through B-CS as part of 4K-mile ride to raise funds for cancer research

Twenty-one University of Texas students will pass through town Monday as part of a 4,000-mile international bike ride designed to raise money for cancer research and treatment.
The Texas 4000 supports three teams of UT students who ride across North America. For 70 days each summer, these nearly 100 total students will cross mountains and deserts on their bikes, raising about $5,000 each for charity.

Register now for the Mesquite Rotary Club’s 22th Rodeo Road Rally. The annual charity fundraising bike ride will start at Mesquite’s Rodeo Convention Center, 1700 Rodeo Drive (near Military Parkway and I-635 L.B.J. Freeway) at 8 a.m. on June 30. Hundreds of Central Texas children were at Miller Park last month for a Safe Kids Day.
They had bicycle helmets properly fitted and made their way through a closely guarded obstacle course.
