Bike The Woodlands Coalition is a growing organization that promotes bicycle safety and cycling within the community.
The coalition is a volunteer advocacy group that envisions a community where bicycling is convenient and safe, an integral part of transportation and widely appreciated as an important contributor to the area’s economic prosperity and residents’ well being. Established in 2009, the group has worked with The Woodlands Township to become designated as a bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community and is working toward achieving platinum status, the highest level awarded. …

A Ride of Silence to bring public awareness of cyclists injured or killed on public roadways is scheduled to begin with a meeting for instructions and a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Texas Tech Z-1 parking lot at 19th Street, prior to beginning the ride.
The 11-mile ride is free, with silence required, and will follow a scheduled route down Indiana Avenue before turning back at 98th Street for the return. Cyclists have been asked to ride at a speed of not more than 12 mph.
