Stopped For The Flowers Bike Ride
I chose a shorter route for today’s bike ride because of the late start, 1:44 pm. I watched the UC vs Wichita State basketball game on the DVR except for the last 16.4 seconds which the DVR didn’t record because the game ran over a few minutes. UC won 62 to 61 with Wichita State getting two shots in the last seconds but missing. With this great win I headed out to ride the “Oakhurst – Valley Ranch” route for 26.84 miles. I biked each day this week for a total of 223.87 miles, the first week over 200 miles in 2018. March now totals 131 miles towards the 585 mile goal.
The wind is still challenging when I bike into it. Weather: start 77 (78% humidity), finish 75 (79% humidity), mostly cloudy, wind SE 18 mph. I rode easily to Valley Ranch but going south was not so easy.
Riding on Pine River Drive in South Woodland Hills another rather tall cyclist passed me going the opposite direction. That was the only cyclist along the route.
The mostly cloudy sky did not dull the spring blooms and I stopped to take these photos.
Monday’s weather forecast shows rain so biking probably will not happen.
