New Bike Day: Canyon Endurace CF SLX
The bike arrived around 11:15 am on the FedEx Ground truck. The driver came to the door to check that someone was home before bringing the box. He asked me to sign for it before getting the box but I said I would like to see it first. He laughed but said he would do the same after asking me if I thought he would drive off without bring the bike to the door. Once it was inside I began the unboxing and assembly process. These pictures show the action. The black pieces of foam with the strips attached held the tire, handle bar and some other parts to the frame during shipping. I had a problem trying to figure out how to remove the thru-wheel axle for the from wheel from the fork to install the wheel. I called Canyon and after an 8 minute wait I spoke to a man who told me the rear tire lever pulls out and then use it for the front wheel. I tried that before but didn’t pull hard enough. Only one lever reduces the weight of the bike. According to the Canyon website the bike weighs 16.535 pounds without the pedals. I added the Ultegra R8000 pedals that I bought on Ebay. I am waiting for the water bottle cages and out front mount for the Wahoo Elemnt computer to arrive. The mount also includes a GoPro mount for my PowerPod. Once they arrive the first ride takes place. Click on an image to enlarge it.
I will move the speed sensor and cadence sensor from the Stradalli Red Pro 14 before riding. The black tire pump on the Stradalli will move too.
