News of a fifth bike-sharing company is touching a nerve with several people along the Dallas Katy Trail.
Dallas has seen a surge in companies bringing bikes of assorted colors to the streets for the public to use. A lot of them can be found around the pedestrian and bike-friendly Katy Trail.

Pace: 16-17 mph
It’s that time of the year when we invest in our riding as we transition to the new year, new season. All stages will start at Thunderbird Café and Tap Room at Koenig and Woodrow. We’ll meet at 8:45am and roll out at 9am sharp. We will aim for around 50 miles so we don’t break legs. Pace will be winter two by two conversational pace. Please don’t park in Thunderbird’s itty bitty parking lot, there is plenty of free parking on Woodrow.
Monday Dec 25, Christmas Day is officially a rest day/weather make up day.
If it’s in the 30s or inclement weather stay tuned for ride updates which will be announced on Facebook.

The Bike Lane That Got Away

In May 2016, a temporary two-way cycle track was introduced on Houston Avenue. TxDOT and City of Houston were proactive in designing and building this detour which linked the Heights Hike and Bike Trail and the White Oak Bayou Trail and preserved access to off-street trails during construction of a bridge over White Oak Bayou.
