A successful Chile Pepper Challenge!
Randy Limbird, Director, 2017 Chile Pepper Challenge
The 2017 Chile Pepper Challenge was a total success! We had over 650 riders in the five different events. Everyone returned safe and sound and even if exhausted, very happy about a great day of celebrating cycling, friends, beautiful weather and scenery! Thanks to all who participated! Special thanks to all who volunteered! We had so many people who went above and beyond. The Canutillo JROTC students who were at Grace Gardens at 5 a.m. The rest stop leaders who spent the day encouraging the riders and supplying them with snacks and water. Registration table volunteers who handled a surprising number of last-minute signups. SAG teams and road crews who made sure the routes were safe. NM State Police, Sunland Park Police and Anthony NM Police who provided protection. And so many more! Mark your calendar: Sept. 30, 2018 well be the 37th annual Chile Pepper Challenge!

the sky was overcast and the weather didn’t get above 84, so it was a very manageable summer day. some people said that riding the back country would leave you vulnerable to the sun, but it felt like the trees would provide pretty good coverage the …
