Schertz awarded grant for trails, sidewalks

Federal funding of nearly $1 million will help pay for planned bike lanes and sidewalk improvements in Schertz, city officials said.
The grant for $926,613 was from the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation Alternatives Program. An additional contribution of $231,653 — 20 percent of the total $1.16 million project — will come from Schertz.
