Day 29: Camp Wood to Lost Maples Recreation Area

Today was a very good day both off and on the bicycle. Off the bicycle I visited with the local craftsmen who deal with the junipers, and mesquite in the crafts trade, while on the bike I rode over some of the steepest inclines here in the Texas Hill country.
The day started with the alarm going off at 6 am, followed by a rolling start at 7:30 am. The weather today was cloudy and cool. I don’t recall it ever getting above 68 degrees. During the early morning there was a light mist as I started in on the hills outside of Campr Wood. We had to climb 750 feet in only a matter of about 2 miles.
