Ribbon Cutting and Groundbreaking on Brays Bayou Greenway
We’re celebrating the opening of a new segment of Brays Bayou Greenway as well as the start of construction of a new pedestrian and bike bridge near University of Houston.
The new trail segment is funded through a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery grant awarded to the City of Houston, and stretches between Old Spanish Trail and Martin Luther King Blvd. The pedestrian bridge will cross the bayou parallel to MLK and connect the newly built trail to the existing trails at MacGregor Park.

I am doing something that gives me goose bumps.
It involves a bike, a route from Austin, Texas, to Anchorage, Alaska, and a good cause. When I first told my family I had been accepted into Texas 4000, they thought I was pretty crazy. Physically the biggest challenge I had experienced was playing high school tennis matches at Robert E. Lee when temperatures were over 100 degrees.

A diverse day. Urban Austin meandering with too many turns and stops and starts. It takes so long to figure out where I am and where the route is. Thank goodness for Gaia. I downloaded the route from ACA into Gaia before I started and it has saved my butt many times and today maybe 20 missteps averted.
