Trail Replacement on Sims Bayou Greenway

Construction planned between Martin Luther King Blvd. and Scott St.
HOUSTON, TX – January 9, 2017 – The 2-mile stretch of Sims Bayou Greenway from Martin Luther King Blvd. to Scott St. will be enhanced with a new 10-ft. wide concrete trail, replacing the old asphalt trail currently in place. Construction begins January 2017 and is expected to be complete spring 2017. The project will be managed by the nonprofit Houston Parks Board, which is responsible for the maintenance of the Bayou Greenways.
This project is just one of many improvements planned for the expanding Sims Bayou Greenway with hike-and-bike trails, landscaping and trailheads connecting residents to nearby parks and community resources. Expansion of the greenway and trails is …

Yesterday was a pretty lonely day in that I had minimal interaction with my fellow earth-dwellers, which explains all the gear talk 🙂 But as one might expect from this trip so far, however, today I spent talking with other folks for hours!

Day 15 – Austin TX Rest Day: The Truth Revealed

A day of mundane details. First, a stop at Jack in the Box for a bite to eat, the laundry, Walgreens, the grocery store, the laundromat, etc.. Once all that was out of the way, I was off to visit my nearest local bike shop to see if they may be able to fix my USB port.
Stop 1: East Side Pedallers The lone person in the shop…the mechanic on duty…was helpful in that he straightened my brake lever from when I dropped the bike on the curb yesterday morning. But, he had no clue how to fix my USB port. The other part of what this fine gentlemen told me I’ll detail below. Onward I went.
