fitness.blog.austin360.com

I used to think that would …

EL PASO, Texas — A recent collision between a car and a bicyclist has the cycling community asking drivers to pay more attention.
Sadly, tension between cyclists and certain drivers is nothing new, but after a cyclist was hit in west El Paso recently, the cycling community is calling for drivers to follow the law and share the road.
On the morning of July 9, on Desert Boulevard, cyclist Patty Flynn was having a solo ride.
“Next thing I knew, I was flying through …

Cannondale recalls 3,500 commuter bikes over fork/axle concerns
by BRAIN Staff

WILTON, Ct. (BRAIN) — Cycling Sports Group, the parent company of Cannondale, is recalling about 3,500 Cannondale Bad Boy and Bad Girl commuter bikes because the front hub axle can fail. The recall involves bikes manufactured between 2010 and 2012.
The company sold about 3,100 of the affected bikes in the U.S. and 400 in Canada. All of the bikes had matte black frames. Only bicycles with date codes beginning with P, Q and RB through RL are included in this recall. The date code is located on the bottom of the bicycle fork …

By Gerry van Bakel
bikehouston.org
When I moved to Houston, I did not have a very detailed picture of the bike culture. Over the course of the past three years, I rode my bike all over town and became an active member of BikeHouston. It took almost two years before I experienced some real ‘cyclist treatment’ from a driver. When riding in a group often cars passing us will …
