Oakhurst – Valley Ranch Bike Ride
Today wraps up the week with a bike ride every day. This is 14 consecutive biking days. I went on a shorter route today, “Oakhurst – Valley Ranch”, for a total of 30.23 miles. This put my June total at 775 miles, 200 short of my goal. There are 3 more biking days this month (I will not be able to ride on Thursday) which means I will not reach my goal but I could be within 100 miles of it which is closer than I expected a week ago. This week I biked 258.5 miles.
The weather was hot again with scattered clouds and 9 mph SE wind. It didn’t feel like it was 93 to 95 degrees though. I did appreciate the shade on some of the streets where old trees covered the street for a lot or more. My home weather is below.
Riding “Oakhurst – Valley Ranch” does not include the leg to Cumberland and back but I added Valley Ranch Parkway to US59 north of the new shopping center under construction. No rest break today except for a couple of minutes to stop at the Texaco at the Valley Ranch entrance for ice and water refill. Two pictures I took while I was there.
I did not eat any custard, burgers or glaciers. Riding south on the US59 service road the wind was favorable all the way to Northpark Drive where I made the u-turn to ride to Knox Street and then back into Kingwood. I started the ride at 11:57 and was back home at 2:10.
