Spears pedals across the country with a Trump flag waving behind him
by Bill Cullins
www.gosanangelo.com
If you drive any of the route between Abilene, Brownwood and Austin over the next few days, you may see Eric Spears pedaling southbound on the highway.
He’s easy to spot × a blue REI touring bike with sleeping bag and pad on the rear rack, yellow panniers on either side of the front wheel, multiple water bottle cages and a down tube bottle cage that’s home to a jar of peanut butter.
Don’t be alarmed by his Taliban-looking beard or the sun-blocking head wrap that at first glance appears to be an Arab shemagh scarf × he has a big ‘Trump’ flag flying on the back of his bicycle so you know he’s one of the good guys.
“I found the Trump flag beside the road in Florida, ” says Spears. “I’m a Trump …

Once you’re far from the serene paths of Buffalo Bayou Park and downtown’s B-Cycle stations, the true picture of cycling in Houston begins to emerge. Cyclists in Houston are more working class …
