This weekend’s rides: Round Mountain! Red Horn!
by Thomas steinerranchcycling.com
Last week we had fun with hills. This week lets go longer and flatter on a slightly different route to Liberty Hill and back via Round Mountain (https://www.strava.com/routes/4120994). It is about 67 miles and I eliminated a few hundred feet by skipping Kauffman, but it is still around 2800 ft. The weather is looking really good! Stick around after the ride for some discounted burgers and beer from Lakeside Pizza & Grill.
Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn. It is 50 miles and is at a more …

He may not know it yet, but Danny’s gift is a …

It is a defining event for a trainee and is one that if they make it, will create memories that last a lifetime. The Texas Hell Week Bicycle Tour is similar in the fact that it is an ultimate challenge for any athlete. It is coming up March 12-19, 2016 in Fredericksburg, TX and if you are cyclist interested in the ride of a lifetime, keep …
Essay: Trucks and bikes – dreams of the off-road
by Katherine Fuller dirtragmag.com
I finally got myself a truck.
I didn’t really “need†a truck, nor does its lightweight rear end make it the most practical vehicle in snowy Colorado (doth protest my loved ones), but hauling things like fatbikes and riding gear and sometimes camping stuff and often the dog in a cramped, low-riding hatchback had proved time and again to be a hassle. I can just toss my fat bike in the truck bed without removing a wheel or needing to dry it off after a snowy ride. Holy cow; you have no idea how exciting that is.
Besides, I hail from south Texas. Despite my white-collar suburban upbringing (my mom has owned …
