Bell County: Millions Approved For Bicycle, Pedestrian Projects

BELL COUNTY (December 17, 2015) The Texas Transportation Commission Thursday approved nearly $3 million in funding for bicycle and pedestrian projects in three Bell County communities.
The projects were among 33 non-traditional transportation projects awarded a total of $25 million through the federal Transportation Alternative Program.
The City of Belton will receive $2.1 million for its Chisolm Trail Hike and Bike Facility Phase II.

One local resident working to raise awareness about an intersection in College Station that he says needs fixing, this after watching a number of accidents and near misses happen.
Nathan Kamphuis rides his bike from his Bryan home to Texas A&M every day, but Thursday morning, that ride was interrupted.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 17, 2015) – Team Arapahoe Resources today announced it has added six new members to its original 7-man roster for the 2016 racing season, including former U.S. national team racer Andrew Dahlheim and Grant Koontz, the current collegiate individual time trial national champion from Texas A&M University.

Track Olympic long teams unveiled

USA Cycling announced the men’s and women’s track Olympic long teams on Friday, naming the lists of athletes from which final 2016 Olympic rosters will be selected next summer.

The women’s track long team includes one automatic and 11 discretionary nominations. One omnium, four team pursuit, up to one sprint and up to one keirin selections will be named to the final Olympic Team in June.
