Lots of Wet Leaves on the Trails Bike Ride
After a big change in the weather yesterday (Sunday) today turned out a lot better than I expected. The cool front passed through and it was 72 degrees when I left home to ride the Kingwood Greenbelt trails at 1:15. The sky was clear and the wind was light. It rained all day yesterday so the trails were wet in some places. With the wind we experienced leaves covered the trail in places where I had to look closely to stay on the concrete.
I tried a different route intending to ride to the Northpark Recreation Area. As I got to the turn I saw some construction workers ahead where Woodland Hills Drive had been extended. It was time to explore and I found a new way to reach Woodridge Forest subdivision. I took the streets to the roundabout in Woodridge Forest before heading south to Northpark Drive. Before doing that I took these pictures of the lake in Woodridge Forest.
Crossing Northpark Drive I got back on the trails and headed south to Lake Houston Parkway. At Town Center I stopped to take these pictures.
After taking the pictures I rode south through Kingwood Greens and onto W. Lake Houston Parkway. The warm weather and shinning sun was perfect. I did wear long and short sleeve jerseys and wasn’t too warm.
I moved into 6600 miles for the year with this ride. The next couple of days could be even warmer so bike riding will be in my plans.
