My plan came together and I rode north on the “Oakhurst – Cumberland – Valley Ranch” route today. The sky was overcast and the temperature was 79 degrees. The wind was from the SE art 13 mph which made riding tough when I went into the wind. I got a late start leaving home at 1:29 and returning at 3:51. With standard time back in place it gets dark around 6 o’clock and riding late like I did with DST is not a good idea.

I needed to get back home and skipped stopping at Stripes. My stomach was not in full agreement with not stopping though.

Several places showed signs of the heavy rain from the weekend with leaves and pine needles forming high water marks. Many areas on this ride are low lying with normal rain amounts let alone storm type rain.

Tomorrow has some rain in the forecast which was another reason to ride today. I may not be able to ride. I am up to 6311 miles for the year. Only 189 miles to reach my 6500 mile goal.
