Woman dies from injuries in hit-and-run

The female bicycle rider involved in a hit-and-run incident Saturday afternoon has died from her injuries.
The incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. in the 600 block of Beverly Drive. The woman, whose name has not been released by Wichita Falls police as of press time, was rushed to United Regional Health Care.

State Road Race Championships, my husband and I caught the finale of the Elite women’s 2014 World Championship road race. Marianne Vos, Emma Johansson, Elisa Longo Borghini, and Lizzie Armitstead—representing the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, and Great Britain—get a gap on the last climb, but with roughly 1K remaining, they slow, looking at each other and over their shoulders, no one willing to work for another’s victory. As a spectator, it’s agonizing to see the move fail, all that talent and firepower just sitting back and setting the table for the pack of hungry sprinters behind. When the break is enveloped by the chase group of 11, the four contenders try to reshuffle themselves into a good position, but it’s too late. Big Steamer Season Finale

The official Big Steamer series of rides will end on Tuesday, October 7th. The final ride will depart at 6:00pm from Corinth City Hall.
After the ride we will gather at Angelina’s Mexican Restaurant in Corinth to enjoy some Mexican food and spirits. Angelina’s is located at 1400 North Corinth Street across from the North Central Texas College Campus.
