E. Texas cyclists raise money for one of their own
By Holly Gonzalez      www.kltv.com
TYLER, TX (KLTV) – An East Texas bicyclist is in the hospital recovering from serious injuries after getting hit by an SUV Tuesday.
Police say 42-year-old Kristin Blaise was struck by 20-year-old Devin Hunter, who was on his cell phone at the time. A group of East Texas cycling enthusiasts are pitching in to raise money for Blaise.
“Blaise is kind of momma bear, is the best way to put it,†says friend and fellow cyclist Joe Self.
On the night Kristin was struck, Self says, “She was actually with a rider that didn’t have very good lights on [his] bike and she had better lights. She was actually shadowing that rider, trying to protect him and that’s when…
Man gains experiences during bike tours

Over the years about 190 riders have participated in the Lone Star Circle of Life Bike Tour.
Some are repeat riders, such as Keith Steward, of Gatesville, who took his first ride in 2000.
Before his participation, Steward was diagnosed with polycystic disease, a genetic kidney disease. His father died from the disease in 1964 and an older sister had a transplant in 1985.
In 2001, Steward was part of the Circle of Life team and met Shari Miller, a new rider. Miller worked for South Texas Blood and Tissue in San Antonio.
“We became friends and stayed in contact,†Steward said.
Damage from polycystic disease is gradual and inevitably leads to…

What could go wrong?

The Last Day Of August Biking In Arlington With The River Legacy Park Crowd
Durango Texas
On this last day of August I decided I’d not been riding my bike enough, so I rolled my motorized transport device to Arlington, to River Legacy Park, to roll my non-motorized wheels on the River Legacy mountain bike trails.
Along with a lot of other wheel rollers and hikers.
In the picture my handlebars are in a quandary, trying to decide whether to go north on the relatively boring…
