Texas cyclers to roll through Florence

The longest annual charity bicycle ride in the world, the Texas 4000 team, will be rolling through Florence on Thursday, July 3, just 34 days after departing from Austin, Texas, en route to its final destination in Anchorage, Alaska.
While in Florence, the 2014 Texas 4000 Team will celebrate and share hope, knowledge and charity with friends and family before continuing on its 70-day journey.

TxDOT Bicycle Use Hearing in DFW: Submit Comments Now

On Wednesday, June 25, TxDOT held their first-ever hearing about bicycle use in DFW at Irving City Hall. An astounding 62 citizens from the DFW area joined 16 elected officials and 14 staff members from TxDOT and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) to discuss programs and issues surrounding cycling in the metroplex.

We are noticed and not as easy to be squeezed between the car and curb. What people don’t realize is our bike tires can cost as much as a vehicle tire and are not as durable. I do not ride in the gutter!
