Journey of Hope riders stop in Abilene Tuesday

ABILENE, Texas – The “Journey of Hope” riders left Long Beach, Calif., on June 2. Tuesday, they are scheduled to arrive in Abilene
“Journey of Hope” is a bike ride across the nation. It covers 32 states and more than 12,000 miles. The team is comprised solely of Pi Kappa Phi members. The mission focuses on spreading the word about acceptance and understanding of people with disabilities.

A 2009 Tulia High School graduate, died October 16, 2011. His love for biking inspired this scholar-ship bike ride. Aaron, born August 27, 1991, was attending Wayland Baptist University when, on a training ride, was struck by a vehicle and met his untimely demise. While we have mourned his premature death, we celebrate his life with this ride and honor his memory with this scholarship. By joining in an activity that he loved, we remember Aaron and forever hold in our hearts the memories that we shared with him.
