Mayor Parker to support BikeHouston’s donation to Crime Stoppers in honor of HPD Hit & Run Department’s efforts

On Thursday, May 29 at 1:30 PM, Houston Mayor Annise Parker is expected to issue a brief statement in recognition of BikeHouston’s donation of $2500 to Crime Stoppers of Houston. The donation has been made in honor of Houston police officer Yadira Estrada and the efforts of the hit-and-run department. Their investigation of the Chelsea Norman hit-and-run case began with a Crime Stoppers tip and ended in an arrest. BikeHouston applauds the efforts of these two organizations and hopes to help solve remaining hit-and run cases with continued support from the public. More than 40 Firefighters, law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel hailing from Tucson to Boston are getting together on Thursday to embark on The Brotherhood Ride, a nine-day trek from Eunice, Louisiana, to Houston. The more than 800-mile journey is a fundraiser to help the families of 19 firefighters who died in Texas in 2013.
