Garage Flats
Bike Noob
Boy, I was excited to get out for a rare weekday afternoon ride! I hadn’t been on the bike in several days, and my body was craving for some fresh air and exercise.
I grabbed the bike and guided it between the garage wall and my car, out to the driveway where I was going to top off the tires with air. But something didn’t quite feel right.
I looked down at the rear tire. It was flat.
That was really odd, because the last time I had been out for a ride, everything was fine. I had no inkling that the tire had been punctured, or even that it was lower at the end of the ride than…
Gabriel’s Story: #myrideto Austin
by djcurtin         bicyclesportshop.com
It’s been really fun and inspiring to get to know Bryan, Katherine, and Gabriel and find out about their rides to becoming cyclists. Since we first started this, many folks have come in to check out our beginner cycling packages and have started their own #myrideto stories, many similar to Gabriel’s, below. Share your story with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram and use the #myrideto hashtag and spread the love of bikes.
What made me decide to get into cycling?

Little did he know that I would take it to the level I did. At first, it started out like a nice little weekend project. As I started fixing the bikes up and taking them out for rides, I started to get hooked. I began with only being able to ride about 5 miles on my…

This not a ride for beginners. The terrain is rocky, dangerous, difficult. This is a drop ride meaning that if you are unable to keep pace, you may be left behind.
This week we may, if time allows, get into 2 miles of what is probably the…
League of American Bicyclists Visits Plano
by Richard Wezensky
City of Plano’s Trail System Planner, Renee Burke Jordan, invited local citizens and bicycle advocates to meet Steve Clark, a Bicycle Friendly Community Specialist from The League of American Bicyclists.
The League is visiting 100 communities this year, bringing their bicycle-friendly expertise directly to the local level — and Plano was on the priority list.
Steve was in town to experience first-hand the bicycle infrastructure in Plano. The meeting brought together citizens and public agency staff to discuss issues and strategies for improvements, provide an…
