City to host second annual Cyclocross event

Get ready to get down and dirty with your bicycle and other racers as the City of Odessa is scheduled to host their Second Annual Comanche Cross.
Set for noon Saturday, the event will consist of four categories — three for adults and one for children — and take place at McKinney Park. Participants will be placed in categories based on their age and athletic abilities.

Tuesday’s story on a Rice University project to create bus racks capable of holding three bikes is important for anyone who’s had to wait for the next bus to schlep their bike somewhere.
There’s a lot more to helping connect bike riders to buses, however.
Promotion and improved mapping are just two of the ways to better connect bicyclists to buses and trains, according to a team of Rice students tasked with helping Metropolitan Transit Authority officials outline strategies.
