Workers on Site – August 22nd Bicycling Ride
The remodel workers descended on our house trying to out number us. The title installers and countertop installers got here early and my wife went to the medical center leaving me in charge; a dangerous situation. She did not get home until around 2:00 so I left on my ride at 2:41. I needed to get back in time for my wife to leave again so I picked a 30+ mile route going through Atascocita, Walden on Lake Houston and Huffman. I ended up riding 31.96 miles averaging 15.8 mph. This put the week’s total slightly above what I wanted to do at 135.13 miles. Now if I ride 75 miles at Wichita Falls the week total puts me at 200+ miles for the week. I like when a plan comes together.
August miles total 614.09 so my goal for the month (721 miles) looks within reach. Year to date I biked 4865 miles.
I finished the ride at 5:19 with the 94 degree temperature down 4 degrees from when I started. This should be good practice for the Hotter’N Hell 100 in Wichita Falls. Mostly cloudy skies provided some relief from the sun.
With all of the work going on I had to be creative getting ready since they disconnected the water and sinks. Getting ready in the morning will be interesting as well.
