The Austin Mountain Bikers Meetup Group
Thursday, March 14, 2013Â Â Â Â Â Â 5:45 PM
Barton Creek Greenbelt – 360 Access (beside brick office building)
3755-B Capital of Texas Hwy., Austin, TX (map)
Park by the trailhead and meet in the paved parking area adjacent to it.
This is a ride call for the Barton Creek Greenbelt back-country. This is NOT a beginner-level ride in any way.
WE WILL BE WHEELS DOWN AT 6 or when everyone is there, whichever comes first!!
Several miles of the route require some good technical riding skill to negotiate safely. They are very chunky/rocky like Lake Georgetown, only much worse. There will also be some steep extended climbs, exposed drops on the sides of the trail, and many large ledges and drops in the middle of it all. Intermediates are more than welcome to come out, but ride at your own risk.
IT WILL BE A FAST PACE ride on the main trail till we get to the big…
Gas Card Give Away
Bent Wheel Bash
We know that Abilene is a bit further than normal to travel for many of you competing in TMBRA races. Not only that, the price of gas is getting ridiculous. So, BikeTown is donating three $50 prepaid Visa cards to help with the cost of gas. Everyone who registers is eligible to win one of these cards. There will be a separate drawing for each category of racers. When you pick up your race number…

This is a swiftly paced ride 15-18+ mph. Some accommodations/considerations can be made for pacer riders.
Trying to get more pacers (we’ve had some) to have quorum for two groups.
The time and location are VERY convenient for Lockheed-Martin employees and contractors – come out and have a good ride.
