Day 4 – Bike Ride and Trip to Austin
by Brandon Serwe    www.bsbellsbootcamps.com
After another glorious nights sleep, I awoke to the aroma of freshly cooked pancakes. After breakfast and some episodes of “Man vs. Food” (a show where an extremely unhealthy nonkettlebeller travels the country eating really delicious looking but in reality artery clogging food as well as doing food eating challenges. For example: he had to eat a grilled cheese sandwich with 14 different types of cheese on it.) To return the favor of the…

Cotton Patch Criterium 2011
by Ken      Texas Racing Life
After an 85 mile road race, I woke to find soreness in my legs, but nothing that I couldn’t handle! My crit was at 11 am. The overnight rain had kept the temperature cooler for the P12 field and I used 2 bottles of water and a couple of gels to keep me company on my bike. Also, I was glad that my parents came out to watch the race.
The course was a squiggly rectangle, that went up and over a bridge on each lap. The first time up the bridge was into a right-to-left crosswind, followed by a tailwind into the fast finishline.
Continuing my plan to race conservatively this weekend, I made sure to stay in the draft and only follow moves that I thought were sure to be relevant. Halfway through the race, Carlos Vargas and Stefan Rothe were able to…
Cotton Patch Omnium 2011
by Ken      Texas Racing Life
The stars finally aligned, and Ally and I had a 3-day weekend together. We migrated north back to Garland to spend some time with family. I would also race my bike.
This would be the second time racing the Cotton Patch. After a disastrous road race last weekend, I was feeling a bit timid and likened my chances to placing well in the race to similar odds of the University of North Texas beating Alabama in football the same weekend. The spread in Vegas for that game was 45 points. I would also…
