The Rain Visits While I Ride – November 29th Bike Ride
The streets were damp when I got home from work and our driveway was more than damp. With the cold front scheduled to arrive later tonight I thought this may be the only chance to ride until Thursday. So I got started on the ride. The temperature was about 80 degrees when I got home and only dropped 2 degrees by the time I hit the road. The clouds seemed to break up when I left but on the return leg I felt some raindrops. Speeding up I wanted to get home before the rain caught me. But it turns out the rain had already visited my house while I was gone so it was good that I was away from the area. As I got closer to home the streets got wetter. The knobby tires kept me above the wet pavement so I did not get sprayed with the road water. This was a good time to have the knobby tires instead of the semi-slicks from my old MTB.
By the time I turned back north the wind had switched from the southeast to the north at 13 mph. In the dark it was hard to tell what the cloud cover was but I could see some dark clouds when the lights were just right. Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to be in the high 50’s and clear skies. This is where my weather threshold is not crossed so I will probably be inside instead of riding.
Today’s riding data:
- November miles 330.34 (more than I expected)
- YTD miles 4933.32
