24 Hours Later and Its Cloudy – November 28th Bike Ride
It’s been 24 hours since my ride yesterday and the weather has changed which is nothing new around here. From yesterday’s clear skies today is cloudy. The temperature is a few degrees warmer today at 68 degrees but the wind has increased to 12 mph from the southeast. Even with the slightly higher temperature the wind made it seem cooler. I was wondering if I might get caught in some rain before I got back home since the clouds were so thick and low. According to the weatherman the cold front has moved out far enough into the Gulf of Mexico that the prevailing southeast wind can now pick and move moisture (and clouds) back into our area.
The ride was enjoyable since I was dressed for the wind and 68 degrees. A long sleeve jersey with my wind breaker jacket and leg warmers. I am such a weather wimp. I see the cyclocross racers and am amazed at how they can endure freezing mud, snow, rain. Look at these Jingle Cross Rock Elite Women, for example. They are bundled up and riding at night to boot.
While my ride today was nothing like this I do complain when it gets below 60 degrees.
I encountered three other serious riders today so I was not the only one hitting the road. Two of them were in the last mile as I headed home.
Today’s ride data:
- November miles 318.22 (more than the 200 miles I was guessing I would ride at the end of October)
- This week’s miles 92.86
- YTD miles 4921.20
