Texas Bicycling Blog and News Roundup for August 27th
The crowds are large in Wichita Falls for the Hotter’n Hell Hundred weekend. We arrived shortly after 5:30 Pm to a very full parking lot surrounding the MPEC building. We ended up parking in a business across the street from the parking lots. Walking to the entrance we saw many out of state license plates along with a number of exotic bikes. The number of Trek Madones was amazing. I guess the price must have come down because these are out my price league. The Expo was larger this year but because they rearranged the area you could walk around and not be crushed. I will have video when I get back home and have time to edit it. There was some mountain biking outside the MPEC building and a criterium on the east side of the coliseum. Tomorrow morning I will be lined up for the bike ride. I plan on taking the 75 mile route which is the 100 mile route and turning at the Hell’s Gate in Burkburnett. There should be video of the ride and other sights.
