Today’s Route Near Huffman Texas
Today’s route starts in Kingwood and then heads to the area southeast of Huffman on the east side of Lake Houston. You can see the route at this link:

The roads on this route are smooth and the traffic is light to none once I got across the McKay Causeway over Lake Houston. I have not ridden these roads southeast of Huffman on a regular basis before because my preferred routes in the past were to the north and west of Kingwood. This is not practical now due to road construction on US59, FM1314 and FM1485. (Hello fiscal stimulus.)
With these unexplored routes I am beginning to think one of Garmin cycling GPS units might be helpful. So far I have had to stop and look at the map I printed out. Even with this help I still miss a road or turn on my planned route. That happened today but the wrong turn was back towards where I would end up if I had not missed the turn.
I did not expect to see any fellow riders but I there were at least three.
