Cyclists gear up for the Goatneck

Bikers from across America will arrive in Cleburne this weekend to compete Saturday in the 21st Goatneck Bike Ride, the bicycle race and annual fundraiser hosted by the Cleburne Jaycees.
Last year’s event drew 2,668 participants from several different states.
“So far this year we’re already at 1,000, which is online with last year’s numbers,†Tommy Forsythe, president of the Jaycees, said. “This week we’ll get 50-60 a day online.â€
The 70-mile race begins at 7:30 a.m., the 41-mile race at 7:45 a.m., the 27-mile race at 8 a.m. and the 10-mile at 8:05 a.m. The starting and finishing points are at Cleburne High School at 1501 Harlin Drive.
